Treasures of Ireland Limerick Flake – dunkel mit harmonischer Süße, Virginia aus sonnenreichen Regionen, zusammen mit 5% Perique gepresst und unter sanftem Druck nachgereift. Ein wunderbar weicher, Flake mit harmonischer Süße, gleichmäßig im Abbrand und kühl im Rauch.
Review über den Pfeifentabak „Limerick“, ein Virginia Flake aus der Serie „Treasures of Ireland“ von Dan Tobacco.
Geruch aus der Dose:
Der Tabak duftet süßlich und fruchtig, mit einem Hauch von Zitrus, Honig und Brot. Die Flakes sind hellbraun, mit einigen dunkleren Anteilen, vermutlich vom Perique-Tabak. Es kommt einem ein saftiger, intensiver und typischer Virginia-Geruch entgegen. Der Perique-Tabak ist mit einer angenehmen Säure deutlich wahrnehmbar.
Stopfeigenschaften:
Die Flakes lassen sich leicht zerreiben und in die Pfeife einbringen. Sie sind nicht zu feucht und nicht zu trocken, sondern haben eine angenehme Konsistenz. Allerdings sollte er locker in die Pfeife eingebracht werden, ansonsten wird die Pfeife wegen fehlendem Sauerstoff häufig ausgehen.
Aroma Geschmack:
Der Tabak schmeckt mild und süß, mit einer leichten Säure im Hintergrund. Die Zitrus- und Honignoten kommen gut zur Geltung, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Er brennt gleichmäßig und ohne Biss, wenn man ihn langsam und kühl raucht.
Abbrand:
Der Tabak brennt langsam und kühl. Er erzeugt einen dichten und weißen Rauch, der sanft die Zunge umschmeichelt. Er lässt sich leicht nachzünden, neigt aber zum erlöschen, wenn er zu dicht gestopft wird. Damit die Flakes richtig in „Fahrt kommen“, darf man am Anfang gerne richtig „Feuer“ geben. Wenn die Oberfläche einen gleichmäßigen Glutdeckel hat, kann man die Zugfrequenz deutlich herunterfahren und einen schön langsam glimmenden Virginia-Flake-Genuss erleben.
Mischung:
Der Tabak besteht aus verschiedenen Virginia-Tabaken, mit einem 5% Zusatz von feinstem Perique, der nach der Pressung und der Reifezeit in Flakes geschnitten wird. Der Limerick ist Teil der Serie „Treasures of Ireland“ von Dan Tobacco.
Raumnote:
Die Raumnote ist angenehm und unaufdringlich. Sie riecht nach frischem Heu, Zitronen und Blumen. Sie ist nicht zu stark und nicht zu schwach, sondern genau richtig. Sie verleiht dem Raum eine gemütliche Atmosphäre.
Fazit:
Der Tabak ist ein gelungener Virginia-Flake, der sowohl Anfänger als auch Kenner begeistern kann. Er hat einen süßen und fruchtigen Geschmack, der nicht langweilig wird. Er hat eine angenehme Raumnote und ist ein idealer Tabak für den Sommer oder für zwischendurch.
Ein sehr preiswerter Pfeifentabak aus gutem Hause den ich, obwohl er vermutlich ein gewisses Topping hat, auch dem Freund/in von naturnahen Tabakmischungen empfehlen kann. Ich ordne ihn eher den mittelkräftigen Tabak-Mischungen zu, da er ein wenig mehr Würze schon vertragen könnte. Aber das empfinde „ich“ so, ich bin sehr Nikotin-Resistent. Vielleicht ein wenig Kentucky, oder etwas Orient würde dieser Mischung gut tun? Aber dann wäre es eben kein Virginia-Perique-Flake mehr.
Er bekommt von mir 3 von 5 Sternen.

Treasures of Ireland Limerick Flake - dark with harmonious sweetness, Virginia from sunny regions, pressed together with 5% Perique and post-matured under gentle pressure. A wonderfully smooth, flake with harmonious sweetness, even burn and cool smoke.
Review about the pipe tobacco "Limerick", a Virginia Flake from the series "Treasures of Ireland" by Dan Tobacco.
Smell from the tin:
The tobacco smells sweet and fruity, with hints of citrus, honey, and bread. The flakes are light brown, with some darker parts, probably from the Perique tobacco. A juicy, intense and typical Virginia smell comes across. The Perique tobacco is clearly perceptible with a pleasant acidity.
Stuffing properties:
The flakes are easy to grind and put into the pipe. They are not too moist and not too dry, but have a pleasant consistency. However, it should be loosely inserted into the pipe, otherwise the pipe will often go out due to lack of oxygen.
Aroma Taste:
The tobacco tastes mild and sweet, with a slight acidity in the background. The citrus and honey notes come through well without being overbearing. It burns evenly and without bite when smoked slowly and cool.
Burndown:
The tobacco burns slowly and cool. It produces a dense and white smoke that gently caresses the tongue. It is easy to relight, but tends to go out if it is stuffed too tightly. To get the flakes really going, feel free to "fire it up" in the beginning. Once the surface has an even glow cap, you can turn down the draw frequency significantly and experience a nice slow smoldering Virginia Flake treat.
Blend:
The tobacco is made up of various Virginia tobaccos, with a 5% addition of the finest Perique, which is cut into flakes after being pressed and aged. The Limerick is part of Dan Tobacco's Treasures of Ireland series.
Room Note:
The room note is pleasant and unobtrusive. It smells of fresh hay, lemons and flowers. It is not too strong and not too weak, but just right. It gives the room a cozy atmosphere.
Conclusion:
The tobacco is a successful Virginia flake that can delight both beginners and connoisseurs. It has a sweet and fruity taste that does not get boring. It has a pleasant room note and is an ideal tobacco for summer or in between.
A very inexpensive pipe tobacco from a good house which, although it probably has a certain topping, I can also recommend to the friend of natural tobacco blends. I assign it rather to the medium-strength tobacco blends, since it could stand a little more spice already. But that's how "I" feel, I'm very nicotine resistant. Maybe a little Kentucky, or something Orient would do this blend good? But then it would no longer be a Virginia Perique Flake.
It gets 3 out of 5 stars from me.
